Seeing the Famous Christ The Redeemer Statue in Rio de Janeiro

Do you know the greatest religious statue in the world? You will find it in Brazil. People called it Christ the Redeemer, a giant statue of Jesus Christ. It is located in the Corcovado Mountain, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue itself has 120 ft height and 635 tones ft. This statue firstly recommended by a catholic priest named Pedro Maria Boss in 1850′s. He suggested that the statue should be build on the top of Corcovado mountain.



 
Then the suggestion realized in 1922 with the designer named Heitor da Silva Costa. For it is great size and considered as sacred building for the catholic, this statue is chosen as one of 7 wonders in the world. In order to reach the statue you need to climb 220 steps, but recently, the visitors will be helped by a flight escalator that will make it easier to reach. There, you also can see the great view which is surrounded the statue.



When you step on the base of the statue, you might enjoy an amazing view of Rio de Janeiro. Beside that, this place also offers you other attractions, they are the Botanical Gardens, Copacabana beach, Botofogo, Ipanema beach, Flamengo and Leblon. To reach this site, the first thing you should do is flying to Rio de Janeiro. You will arrive at Antônio Carlos Jobim International Airport. You can take a taxi, or catch the  train that goes up the hill. As one of the most famous tourist destintaions in Brazil, it is a must to visit the statue when you on vacation in the country.
