Vale Do Lobo is a 1,000-acre, purpose-built, 5-star luxury
resort, set amid tree-lined streets and tropical gardens, with the
principal road leading down to the main square and beach. A 27-hole golf
course surrounds the whole complex. The ambience is one of peaceful
luxury.
This resort caters for more upmarket clientele, no exceptions. Also great for sport lovers, particularly golfers.
The whole area is mainly de luxe and luxury villas with their own pools. A small selection of apartments. One each of 4- and 5-star hotels.
The main beach in Vale do Lobo, is long, sandy and narrow in parts, with direct access to Faro Beach. Water sports of every kind and general facilities, eg beds, restaurants, bars etc, are plentiful. Between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago are a number of beaches, all of which have, at the very least, bars or restaurants.
There is a small selection of expensive souvenir and clothes shops in the square. At the main entrance there is a large supermarket. In Almancil, there is a fortnightly gypsy market.
The nightlife is varied at this resort. There are 2 discos, both
situated at the main square, and several bars located either at the
square or in tennis or golf clubs.
